Management of Ghana Cocoa Board (COCOBOD) has noted with concern claims by some unscrupulous persons that the spraying of cocoa farms with “anointing oil” will increase yield.
These persons who claim to be “prophets” and “pastor “are using local FM stations and information Centers in the cocoa growing area and regions to misinform our hardworking cocoa farmers to spray “anointing oil” on their farms to improve harvest.
COCOBOD wish reiterate that there is on scientific proof to the claims.
COCOBOD therefore calls on cocoa farmers to spray their farms with ONLY the following approved chemicals:
FUNGICIDES-RIDOMIL GOLD PLUS, FUNGURAN, CHAMPION, NORDOX or FUNGIKILL INSECTICIDES-CONFIDOR, AKATEMASTER, ACTARA Cocoa farmers are advised to ignore such messages and report perpetrators to security agencies and COCOBOD offices in their respective areas.
COCOBOD is committed to providing cocoa farmers with all the needed inputs to motivate them to adhere to good farming practices for improved yield
